MLM, sometimes called Multilevel Marketing among other things has gained a horrible reputation in recent years. Many untrained people trying to start their own business have damaged the name of MLM to a point that most everyone will put a wall as soon as they suspect you are selling something. If you even mention the word MLM sometimes a person will think of scams, rip-offs or pyramid schemes.

But think about it, Multi-Level Marketing has been around for years, some more than fifty years! Every day, a new company emerges, some better than others in the company plans for their distributors. So if ALL MLM is such a horrible method for selling products or making money, why do people become distributors?

Why?? Well, this method of selling works, and it works in a huge way!

So if you can start your own business for little money down, MultiLevel Marketing allows anyone to start their own business and do it for very little money and little risk. You can become the CEO of your own home business. And this is very appealing for a lot of people.

The process of getting into MLM is very simple

First you need to choose a company and a product that you want to be associated with and even more importantly that you enjoy. While this isn’t hard, it is a very important step, if you truely love your products, you become a more believable seller.

If you look at what goes into selling a product like a piece of clothing, you will see that there are many people that have to get paid from that sale. It starts with a manufacturer and then goes to a wholesaler and/ or a distributor and then finally to the retailer that you bought it from. There are shipping costs, costs to upkeep or rent the buildings the clothes are in. A large amount of money is also spent on advertising and marketing the product so you will want to go buy it. Every one of these people need to pay their costs and they want to make a little profit too!

Marketing and advertising is used to support all of this because if the product doesn’t get sold then no one gets paid. They try to make the product look like something you really need and they do this quite often by having people that look like your friends and family tell you how wonderful the product is.

MLM or network marketing gets rid of most of the players in a normal marketing system. It comes down to the manufacturing company and YOU. The company relies on you to get people to buy the product. The advertising is you educating people on what is available and why they need it.

After all the best form of advertisement is word or mouth. You would be much more apt to buy the piece of clothes we talked about earlier if your friend told you how great it was. Why do you think they use people that look like your friends and family when the make the commercials.

Multilevel marketing takes the money that would go to all those middle men and gives it to YOU and your distributors. (Again, these are people you know and probably have become friends with.)

SO the power of multilevel marketing is you get paid to use a product and get paid even more when you educate others on its benefits and they use the product. In turn they also get paid to use a great product.

It’s that simple and that easy.
