How I Started My Home Business
My name is Debbi Corlew and I live in western Illinois along the Mississippi River. I have owned my own home business now for over 7 years and would
like to share not only my experiences, but some helpful tips on starting and running your home business.
I currently am a distributor for a candle company and not only do I LOVE the product, but believe in burning a healthier candle and keeping my home

Not only do I love the products that this company offers, but I love
the freedom that this company give its distributors in setting prices, running specials and how to market the products.
Let me share with you how I decided to get in to my own business at home and sell candles that I not only love, but believe
in the company's solid business plan.
I was at a point where I had tried several MLM companies and had never found one that made me feel as if I was truly selling
a superior product as the one I am in business with now. It helps to see how others make a success out of their own home
businesses and that is why I want to share not only my story, but how I got where I am and some simple steps to achieve the
dreams that I have.
Originally, I had not been looking for a Candle Business in particular. I had purchased one of the jar candles that they
offer and fell in love with the way it burned, the scent it gave off and decided to investigate the history of this brand.
That is when I found the company that I am with now. After a bit of internet research, I also found that this candle offers
an all-natural alternative to the parraffin based candles sold through other resources. With everyone trying to live more
"green" this was a fantastic way to promote candle burning and yet using renewable resources and to have a cleaner environment
to live in.
Also, in past MLM's that I had tried, there were a few things that I was looking for a company that had would not require
me to purchase hundreds of dollars of product in a certain amount of time, not require me to hold a certain amount of home
parties or give me the freedom to decide what I want to charge for items.
I had found that this candle company offered a Candle of the Month Program. Each distributor would receive a jar candle and
dozen votives in the newest scent along with one of their soy bath bars sent out each month. I figured that I didn't have
anything to loose, as I could easily burn that amount of candles each month and could easily use the bar soap too. For the first
year, I just played around, using the products, showing them to friends and even sold a few here and there. This was great
since my friends had never really showed interest in the things I had sold before. They would eagerly await for the new scent
that I would bring in each month to work and often sold everything that I brought in. At that time I was happy to make a
little extra cash to cover the purchases of candles for myself.
After that first year, the newness wore off and I wanted more for my business. After looking online for some good advise, I
finally came across some sound information on both home businesses and internet marketing. It was not based on any specific
product or company, many of the things are free to download, while others had a small fee. I found that this cost was much
lower than other ebooks, classes or other websites. I want to pass this valuable information along to YOU! I would love for

6. Be committed to your dreams and make your business a success to live those dreams.
